Thrifted Trends: Metallic Leather Mini Skirt

Tuesday, October 30, 2012

Lace Tunic, Guess Pumps & The Limited Leather Skirt- (Goodwill North Georgia)/Sequin Bolero- TJMAXX/
Our most recent theme for our Blog Fab Fashionistas Tweetup was Chic in the City. It was hosted by the fabulous Parker Simmons of Everyday Runway at Bouchic Boutique and Lounge. We were asked to come dressed as our favorite Sex in the City character. My choice was the sexy, sultry Samantha. So I shopped my closet an wore this hot metallic leather mini skirt, (worn HERE) and paired with a lace sleeveless top and a sequin bolero.

Stylish Review: Misses Dressy

Monday, October 29, 2012

With the holiday season literally right around the corner, the holiday party invitations are probably flooding your mailbox or inbox. And the dreaded "What am I going to wear?" is the infamous question as you think about what is in your closet. Well I have an option for you to consider. The team at MissesDressy invited me to review their online store. I must say that was very impressed with various designer brands they carry, including Tony Bowls, Alberto Makali, Sherri Hill and Tadashi. They even offer FREE shipping here in the US and Internationally too. To help make sure the dress you order is the right fit, the website has a detailed sizing guide and "How to Measure" video.

After browsing their website, I focused my attention on their Inventory Clearance section and these are my favorite budget friendly stylish pieces!

Alyce Claudine Collection
This sequin romper is perfect when you want to make a style statement and turn heads all at the same time. It's the perfect alternative to the short mini sequin dress.
Sue Wong
This one shoulder dress would be my choice for a cocktail party. Instead of reaching for that Little Back Dress, try out the girly romantic one-shoulder dress.

Bagdley Mischka
This little black dress is the choice for the company holiday party. Classic style that is very appropriate when celeberating with co-workers after hours.
Tadashi
Heading to a charity gala or black tie event? This full length would be my choice. I love the draping, which will be forgiving for any body type, plus you can enjoy all the holiday food you want without worrying about the after dinner bulge.

Which dress is your favorite? Where would wear it too?

Swapnista Fashion Swap Party & Bloggers Resale Shop Atlanta

Friday, October 26, 2012

We are taking second-hand style to a new level this weekend in Atlanta!! This Sunday, October 28th is the Swapnista Fashion Swap Party and the launch of the Blog Fab Fashionistas Resale Shop!

Swapnista is one of my favorite events to host. I enjoy giving women an opportunity to purge their closet of pieces Ithey no longer wear so they can update their wardrobe with "new-to-you" pieces from other fashionistas. This summer I was able to spread Swapnista love in Houston, Little Rock, Shreveport, New Orleans and last month Charlotte. Thank you to my fabulous on-site coordinators for leading the efforts.

This season, I teamed up with Nikka Shae, the founder of the Blog Fab Fashionistas, to launch The Bloggers Resale Shop!  A mobile and online collection of the once-loved fashions from your favorite Blog Fab Fashionistas. You have seen their style, now you will be able to score their fashionable once-loved pieces. The online store will launch on Sunday, October 28th.

So if you are in Atlanta this weekend, please join us! RSVP HERE or follow us on instagram or twitter using hashtag #swapnista #bffresaleshop

Thrifted Trends: Colorblock Sweater Dress

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

Dress- Thrifted (Value Village Roswell)/ Handbag- Thrifted (B & R Thrift Store)/ Booties- Jessica Simpson (Dillards or buy HERE)

Are you thrifting for sweater dresses. I tell you one thing, it is the go to outfit in the Fall/Winter months. Throw on a sweater dress, opaque tights and booties, and you are ready for a day at the office or a casual lunch date. But this colorblock sweater dress is extra special, because it adds a pop of color on a gloomy day. So choose a sweater dress that will make a stylish statement and add a colorblock sweater dress to your wardrobe.

Do you think colorblocking is here to stay? Or are you over the trend?

Resale Therapy: Junior League Atlanta Nearly New Shop

Monday, October 22, 2012

I had the pleasure of hosting a resale therapy session at the Junior League of Atlanta's Nearly New Shop located at 1715 Howell Mill Road, Atlanta, GA. Shoppers enjoyed an extra 20% off their purchase, shopping with a personal stylist and entering a drawing to win a $25 gift card. Here are a few pictures from the event.

After signing in, shoppers browsed a rack filled with pieces hand selected by yours truly!

This mink had my name written all over it. So I had to try it on. Isn't it a beauty?

Shopping takes so much energy, so we were treated with yummy cupcakes and refreshing (non-alcoholic) sangrias! Then it was back to shopping!

Our shoppers scored great deals and so can you! Stop by the Nearly New Shop for fabuless fashion at budget-friendly prices! Like their Facebook Page and Follow them on Twitter too.

Here is a sneak peek of a few pieces that I scored....a peach oversized blouse, a military-inspired shirt dress and a maxi skirt (worn as a dress). Stayed tuned and watch how I put my Stylish Kay on these beauties! Which piece is your fave? How would you style it?

Do you need a need a little Funk and Flair in your Fall wardrobe? If you answered YES, be sure to check out the trendy fashion at Funky Flair Boutique, an online fashion boutique based in Atlanta, GA. The owner Kesha Deniseselected  this long-sleeve off the shoulder blouseIt was just my style and perfect timing because I wore it during the Chic Boutique Tour.

It is such a style statement because it puts a spin on the classic crisp white blouse. I know I will get the most out of this blouse. It is a transition piece that can be worn year round, from the office (under a blazer) to sipping a few cocktails at happy hour.

So check out Funky Flair Boutique online or in person at Shecky's Atlanta

Fabuless Thrifter: Style Chic 360

Thursday, October 18, 2012

Top: $6 (Old Navy)/Jeans: $10 (Thrifted)/Shoes: Gifted (Bakers)/ Blazer/Cuff Necklace: $10 (Thrifted)
This week's Fabuless Thrifter is Inez of Style Chic 360. Based in Detroit, Inez shares her passion for fashion by inspiring her readers to mix resale and retail pieces to create very stylish and thrifty outfits. Especially this featured outfit which is less than $30.  "I knew pairing the blazer with the animal print would really pop," she said.  "I tried to create a fun eclectic outfit...and I loved the way it turned out."

Where is your favorite place to thrift?
I love thrifting at Value World, I always seem to find something whenever I go.

How long have you been thrifting?
I have been thrifting for a little over a year and half.

What's the most exciting thing about thrift shopping?
For me it's definitely the hunt, you never know what you'll find while thrifting and that is the best part...finding those hidden treasures.

What's your most "fabuless" find?
There are so many…hmmm, lets see. I did thrift an authentic vintage dress with the Int'l Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU) tag, I was pretty excited about that one! Which reminds me, I need to wear it! It was a great find for less than $5.

What do you think about her Fabuless Look?
Be sure to connect with Style 360 on Facebook and follow her on Twitter & Instagram too.
