Thrift Style We Crave: Melodie from Georgia

Friday, June 5, 2015

This week we are craving the thrift style of Melodie from Georgia. Although Melodie has been thrifting since her teenage years, she did not fall in love with thrift shopping until about six years ago.

"I was attending a pop-up-shop at Henri Bendel and I wanted a more chic look rather then my normal eclectic look.  I felt this skirt was just what I needed."

WHAT I WORE:
Button-down top - Park Ave $2.00
Skirt - Diva Diva Boutique $12.00
Pink clutch - Last Chance Thrift $1.00
Shoes - Shoedazzle
Statement necklace - Uptown Cheapskate $4.00

Her favorite place to thrift: Park Ave Thrift Store and Park Ave Thrift Outlet

"I wore this look to a natural hair brunch.  Unlike the usually "dress-up" brunch I was going for a "natural girl rock" type of look.  I really liked how it turned out."

WHAT SHE WORE:
Tiger print shirt - Plato's closet $6.00
DIY Skirt
Cross-body bag - Honestly Speaking Style (Heels on Wheels) $15.00
Shoes - Charlotte Russe
Sunnie - Mall Kiosk $5.00

Her most enjoyable part of thrift shopping: The thrill of not knowing what really cute or unique pieces I'll find.

"I love colors, especially bright colors.  The shoes inspired this look."

WHAT SHE WORE
Neon yellow top - Park Ave $2.00
DIY Jeans
Head scarf - H&M $6.00

Her number one tip for thrift shopping success: Patience - pack your patience
