This week we are craving the thrift style of Adrienne from North Carolina. Adrienne fell in love with thrifting after watching What Not To Wear. She said she was inspired to shop but knew she couldn't afford the price ranges they suggested. "Therefore, I stopped in a local Goodwill one day and was sold", she said. "That was about 13 years ago." Now it's a lifestyle.
"My thrifted look describes my year so far...it started out all beautiful and then war broke out!"
I had a great opportunity to speak to an amazing group of sixth graders at Centennial Academy in Atlanta. I gave them the insider scoop about my role as a fashion blogger and how they could use blogging as a way to earn additional income while working in their chosen profession. One of my first questions to the group was "What is a fashion blogger?" The responses were so refreshing! One student said that a fashion blogger informs others about fashion and upcoming trends. Another student told me that she was a fashion blogger too! Just say I was very impressed with my group of ladies. I really expect great things from this group the Class of 2021. Here is a photo recap of the day.

This week we are craving the thrift style of Courtney from Iowa. Courtney fell in love with thrifting the summer after her junior year of high school. She said she was tired of sacrificing too much of her hard earned paycheck to stay current on trends. "I wanted some unique new pieces that not everyone had," she said.
"I was heading to see Phantom of the Opera performed in the city, and I wanted to be dressed up. I'd wanted a tulle skirt for forever, and when I saw this tulle skirt dress at Goodwill,I knew it was perfect. However, I had no where to wear it. When I found out I'd be going to see Phantom of the Opera, I knew it'd be perfect."

So I have slowly started my collection of thrifted graphic t-shirts and this Juicy Couture t-shirt is a perfect addition. I admit that I am not a huge fun of graphic t-shirts because I never really considered them fashionable. But after seeing how the Thrifting Diva styles her, I thought that I would give it a try too. The key to looking stylish in your graphic t-shirt is to pair it with a statement piece, items that are trendy or classic. I styled my graphic t-shirt with a bold print black and white mini skirt.
This week we crave the thrift style of Oneika from Virginia. Although she went thrifting with her mom when she younger, she did not immediately fall in love with thrifting. As an adult, she visited Plato's Closet and Goodwill and scored a few fashionable pieces that were New With Tags! Then recently she stalks Instagram for more unique pieces and now she considers herself head over heels in love with thrifting!
"I was inspired to wear this outfit because I love vintage dresses! I featured this sailor-inspired look for as a business casual outfit-of-the-day style post on my blog."

I wore this ABS maxi dress this past weekend when I served as a guest panelist for the Goodwill Week Fashion Panel event. I scored it from the Goodwill Grasslands location for only $7. ABS by Allen Schwartz can be found at big chain department stores like Macys, Dillards and Nordstrom. So it is always a treat to find brand names like that at the thrift stores. This dress is so comfy and can be dressed up or dressed down. I really fell in love with the bold colors and the print. I will be a repeat offender in this dress! Just giving you all a heads up.
My thrift haul find of the week is this dress by Free People. The style is called Lonesome Dove. I scored it from Goodwill SmyrnaNew With Tags for only $7 and it retails HERE for $168. Now that is a savings! I am pretty familiar with the brand Free People. It is known for being very Bohemian inspired. So if you loveboho-chic style or want to try it you will definitely love their collections. You can shop them in big-chain retail stores like Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Macys and Dillard's. Of course you can find that at your local resale shop too!
This week we crave the thrift style of Stephanie from New Jersey. She fell in love with thrifting at the age of 13. Her aunt, a Master Thrifter, had a quirkly style that Stephanie admired. Her aunt became her mentor and Stephanie learned the art of thrifting first-hand.

While thrift shopping, do you often pass on buying those frumpy looking midi dresses? I admit that most of the time they do not have any hanger appeal. Plus they can be a bit tricky to see the vision on how to wear them. They are so comfortable and perfect for the season. So here a few tips on how you can make that frumpy dress look more sultry!
