Thrifted Trends: Pussy Bow Dress and Suede Trench

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Dress: Aldrich (Park Ave Thrift), Trench: Hennes (Goodwill Outlet Queens NY), Shoes: Steve Madden (Fashion Style Studio), Belt: (Nearly New Thrift Store)

I love wearing dresses, but this pussy bow vintage dress has to be one of my favorites! I scored it from Park Ave Thrift in Roswell. On first glance, it had no hanger appeal but the print caught my eye and the pussy bow was the icing on the cake! This is why I love thrifting. You never know what great pieces you can find. It's like a treasure hunt every trip.

It is such a pleasure sharing my fabuless finds with you, that I am bursting with excitement to share some exciting news too! I am one of the nominees for the Atlanta Tastemaker Magazine B.FAB Awards. This award recognizes Bloggers in the Fashion & Beauty Industry. Thrifted Trends: Floral and Leather

Thursday, January 24, 2013

Blouse: Maggy London (Goodwill Johns Creek), Pants: Harve Benard (Value Village Roswell), Shoes: It's OK (BFF Resale Shop via LALynns), Accessories: Necklace and Bracelet (IG Kisha Rose)

Did you know that thrift stores are a gold mine for all sorts of vintage leather separates? I have scored several pieces for myself and clients over the years. Some women shy away from wearing leather for the fear of looking the part of a rough and tumble crowd. One of my favorite ways to style leather separates, is to pair it with a feminine piece to soften it's tough bad-ass look. I think it achieves a perfect balance of a bit of naughty with a bit of nice! The red shoes for my outfit adds an unexpected pop-of-color!

How do you rock your leather pieces?

P.S. I will be joining Fashionista Next Door for her Style Me Friday "Floral & Leather" link up party...and you should too!!

Thrifted Trends: Houndstooth

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

Dress: Ann Taylor (Goodwill Perimeter), Blazer: (Value Village Roswell), Shoes: Mossimo Paisley Pumps (Target), Accessories: Assorted Pieces

According to Wikipedia, Houndstooth is a duotone textile pattern characterized by broken checks or abstract four-pointed shapes, often in black and white, although other colors are used. It is has been a huge trend this season, so imagine my excitement when I set scored this dress during our recent Thrifting Atlanta Thrift & Brunch. I styled it with a black blazer, black opaque leggings and fuchsia pumps. If you will be in the Atlanta area on February 10th, join us for our next Thrift & Brunch and see what fab pieces you can score.
