The Blog Fab Fashionistas had the pleasure of hosting the social media suite at the Love and Hip Hop Atlanta Reunion viewing party. The event was hosted by Tha Real Momma Dee at Studio Couture, a chic boutique right behind Frank Ski's Restaurant in the heart of Downtown Atlanta.

I admit that I am not a big fan of this type of reality show. I can count the number of episodes I watched on one hand. But after watching this reunion show, I can't wait for the next season.

My outfit of the day: Sheer Snakeskin Print Tunic and Black Disco Pants. I chose something chic and sexy for the evening.

When wearing a sheer blouse, especially one that is printed, I prefer wearing a bra (or cami) that is a close match to my skin tone.

That way I have the necessary coverage without competing with the print. I also like that it makes people wonder if I am wearing any coverage at all. Yes, I had someone bold enough to ask!!

What do you think of the sheer trend? What is your style rule when you wear sheer? I would also like to your thoughts about the Love and Hip Hop Atlanta show!! Are you a fan or a foe?

EBEW: Monochromatic Yellow Hue

Wednesday, August 15, 2012

I Wore: Top and Shoes- Goodwill/ Pants- Fashion Style Studio/ Assorted Arm Candy/ Clutch- Thrifted/Necklace- Just Jewels 4 U

I love doing the Everybody Everywear challenge. This month's theme is monochromatic i.e. mixing hues of the same color. I used this opportunity to wear these bright yellow high waist pants which I paired with a silk sleeveless top in a softer hue of yellow.

The clutch has all the yellow hues and the pewter and gold accessories complement my outfit. The look is casual chic but makes a statement.

What are your rules for rocking monochromatic? Click HERE to see how the other bloggers put their spin on the monochromatic trend!

My outfit for the day: White Blazer and Denim Skinny Jeans. This look is a good example of how you can dress up denim, especially with a blazer. It makes the look very polished and effortless.

Since my blazer and t-shirt where white, I choose a statement necklace that packed a pop of color. It actually becomes the focal point of the outfit.

Lastly, a pair of nude colored shoes completes the look! How do you dress up your denim?

My outfit for the day: Black & White Stripes with Floral Print. This is my first time in a while wearing retail clothing, but I could not pass up the resale prices. I picked up these pieces while I was out shopping for a client. The skirt and top were on clearance. Both pieces under $15.

I heart the mixed prints trend. I did it HERE and HERE. The key to pulling of this look is to make sure that you have the same color combination in both pieces. My color combination of choice was black and white. I kept the accessories simple and the shoes neutral for the effortless chic look.

If you haven't tried this trend, start now! Stripes and florals are the easiest mixed prints to pull off. What are your tips for styling mixed prints?
