I truly appreciate all the support you have given me since day one. I look forward to another fabulous year. Based on your page views, the following looks made the top 10!

What I Wore: Extreme Hi Low Maxi Top

Monday, December 28, 2015

I love mixing my retail finds with my resale fashion. When I saw this top on the mannequin at Funky Flair Boutique, I knew I had to have it. I loved the fashion-forward vibe and that it would make a style statement. I tried it one and it fit perfectly! I wore this outfit during the December Thrifting Atlanta Bus tour. To balance out the volume of the top, I paired it with a mini pencil skirt and my knee high boots.

What I Wore: Large Crystals Statement Necklace

Thursday, November 26, 2015

The holiday season is always a great time to bring out your most festive fashion and accessories. So I felt it only appropriate to pair my Thanksgiving Outfit with my Large Crystals Statement Necklace from Happiness Boutique. The necklace has a nice weight to it, so it felt heavy the first time I wore it. But after wearing it several times HERE and HERE, I got used to wearing such a large statement necklace.

I love wearing dresses and I do not allow the Fall season to prevent me from wearing them. Since thigh high boots cover up much of your legs that would be exposed, they are a great alternative to wearing opaque tights during the fall. Who needs pants, jeans and trousers when you can have a pair of sexy thigh high boots? Check out how my fave bloggers styled their thigh high boots.

When packing for a weekend getaway, especially to celebrate Carnival, it’s very important to pack sexy fashion, statement accessories and cute shoes too. Since the weekend will be spent attending several parties and a day long carnival parade, preventing blisters is definitely a main concern. But I do not want to compromise my style in order to wear so called comfy shoes. That is why I was so happy to discover COMPEED® Blister Medium Cushions

What I Wore: Tartan Plaid Maxi Skirt

Monday, October 5, 2015

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #RinseMadeRad #CollectiveBias

I am MAD for PLAID! It is my favorite print to wear especially during the Fall. I have worn it HERE, HERE and HERE. Plaid usually brings up memories of prep school uniforms or the "grunge" look from the 90s. When paired with the right pieces, it can be styled to look chic and sophisticated too. I styled my tartan plaid maxi skirt with a sheer printed pussy bow top.

Skirt $1.75 - Vintage (Park Ave Thrift Outlet Woodstock)
Blouse $3- Covington (Goodwill Grasslands)
Shoes $5Nine West (Goodwill Grasslands)
Handbag $13Gucci (Red, White and Blue Thrift Store)
Total $22.75

Bob Marley said "The most beautiful curve on a woman’s body is her smile.” And I am sure that you all would agree too. When getting dressed, I consider it my must-have accessory and I never leave home without it. But even more important, is the freshness of my breath. I don't want to be well-dressed and soon as I smile or open my mouth people are put off because of bad breath.

That is why I floss daily and rinse twice-a-day with a therapeutic mouthwash like LISTERINE® Antiseptic to achieve superior oral health.  It is the most important part of my daily fashion/beauty routine. I do not feel dressed without it! It's the finishing touch to make my look complete.

This means I shop often for mouthwash, so imagine my excitement to see the new plaid design on the LISTERINE® bottles at my local TargetYou can find the limited-edition 'Mad for Plaid' collection at Target September 13 – October 31. They are available in the following colors:
  • LISTERINE® Zero: Red Plaid
  • LISTERINE® Cool Mint: Blue plaid
  • LISTERINE® Original: Yellow plaid
  • LISTERINE® Fresh Burst: Green Plaid

Thrift Wish List: Fall Fringe Trends

Friday, September 25, 2015

Fall is finally here and that means it is time to make some updates to your wardrobe. One of the easiest ways to update your wardrobe on a budget is to add a fashion trend. My trend of choice is Fringe, but picking my favorite item it going to most difficult part. That is one of the reasons I always suggest thrift shopping. You would be surprised what you might find and you will not blow your budget! Check out how my fave bloggers styled their fringe trends.

What I Wore: Blue Suede Shoes

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

I am focusing on building my shoe wardrobe. My wish list includes a few classic designer shoes and of course some fun, trendy fun ones too. So when two of fave blogger boos (Kisha Rose & The Style Klazit) invited me to try out ShoeDazzle, I could not resist. If you are not familiar with ShoeDazzle it is a monthly subscription program for shoes. I signed up for the VIP membership plan and each month I receive a credit of $39.95 to purchase shoes from my curated closet. I admit I was a bit overwhelmed at the massive selection of shoes to choose from, but once I laid my eyes on these blue suede shoes, I knew I had to get them. I loved the color, the cut-out sides and the faux bootie style. They are the Hiroki from the ShoeDazzle Gwen Stefani collection. I styled my booties with my pale yellow dress and added a statement necklace too!

What I Wore: Vintage Jumpsuit

Monday, September 21, 2015

Jumpsuits are a staple in my closet. I tend to always pick one up every time I go thrift shopping. You may wonder what I love about them. I love wearing jumpsuits because they are easy to style, always in season and make a statement. This jumpsuit caught my attention as soon as I saw the color and the deep V neckline. I also love the tapered style at the ankles. Those are just a few of the details I look for when deciding if an item is a good fit for me.

What I Wore: Oka-B Wedge Heels

Monday, September 14, 2015

Last month I attended the Oka-B media brunch, to get a sneak peek at their Fall shoe collection, including the launch of the Emery wedge. I learned so much about the company and heard the numerous reviews about the comfort of their shoes, that I could not wait to wear my first pair. I was gifted a pair of Emery peep toe wedges. I selected it Sapphire because it looks like such a classic color that will complement my wardrobe effortlessly. Since the Emery was launched and described as the perfect transition piece to take you from summer to Fall, I styled it with my favorite fall Ralph Lauren crest blazer and Joe's denim skinny jeans.

Events: Back by Popular Demand Consignment $1 Sale (RECAP)

Wednesday, September 9, 2015

This past weekend, I attended the Back By Popular Demand Consignment Dollar Sale. This annual event is a fundraiser that supports a local charity selected by the owner.  I was among the early birds, arriving at 6:30am (the sale started at 8 am), in the hopes of catching the best deals. With over 20,000 pieces of clothing, accessories and shoes to be set-up for the sale, owner Melissa Baxter, and her team were very busy getting everything organized. I am always amazed at how they do this so effortlessly. I guess this is due to their over 13 years experience hosting an event of the scale. Big KUDOS to them for pulling off an amazing event that is well organized, safe and full of quality merchandise.

Here are my must-have tips for a successful day:
ARRIVE EARLY. Get a sneak peek and set-up of the inventory. That way you can develop your strategy and know which items you will shop first.
WEAR THRIFTING UNIFORM. This is an outdoor event, so there are no fitting rooms!
BRING FRIENDS. The more the merrier and you can score items for each other.

Below is a photo recap of the sale:

Thrift Wish List: Ankara Print Midi Skirt

Tuesday, September 1, 2015

The Ankara print skirt is such a statement piece that I had to add it to my Thrift Wish List. I absolutely love vibrant prints and the Ankara print fulfills that need. It is also so easy to style. What I like most about the Ankara skirt is that it can styled with a variety of tops. My fave bloggers make styling look so effortless. The key to wearing this look is to select a top that is simple so the skirt will not compete. That way the skirt will become the focus.  You can shop similar styles HERE and HERE

Events: Oka-B Fall Preview Media Brunch

Wednesday, August 26, 2015

Today I attended the media brunch for Oka-B shoes to preview their fall collection which featured their latest addition-- the Emery Wedge. It is described as the “transitional shoe,” perfect for summer to Fall. I was equally excited to learn that Oka-B is a local shoe manufacturer based here in Atlanta, Georgia. It is always a plus to know about products made here in the USA. Oka-B shoes are the adult version of the jelly flats we loved as kids, But these shoes are designed with an ergonomic foot bed enhanced with massage beads to pamper your feet. They are made from Microplast technology, which provides a lightweight, flexible shoe that remains comfortable and durable. I received the Emery wedge is Sapphire. They are available in several colors. You can visit their website HERE to view the full gallery. Below is a photo recap of the event.

Thrifted Trends: Polka Dot Dress

Tuesday, August 25, 2015

Polka dots are one of my most favorite prints. It is a timeless classic print perfect for any season and any occasion. It's very feminine and never goes our of style. So that makes polka dot prints a must-have staple that every woman should own. I am always drawn to this print whenever I am thrifting. I have polka dot blazers, tops and dresses. So I really did not need another polka dot piece. But this was 1/2 price at Goodwill Grasslands location, so I paid $3. It retails for about $24. This is why I love thrifting! Retail looks from resale pieces.

Thrift Wish List: Christian Louboutin So Kate

Friday, August 21, 2015

I heart designer shoes and accessories. So my thrift wish list includes a pair of So Kate Christian Louboutin shoes. These shoes combine a classic look with a touch of sexy! They are a great transition piece too, because you can wear them for business, social or a casual event. That skinny delicate heel is just beautiful too. I stalk my favorite designer consignment store Alexis Suitcase everyday hoping that a size 40.5 will appear in the store just for me. They are usually priced about 60% off the retail price. Which is a steal for such a quality, luxury and timeless shoe. Also, I calculate the cost per wear of the shoes because the true price of an item is determined by the number of time you will wear it. The formula is very simple math: Divide how much an item costs by the number of times you will wear it. So I plan to wear it at least 2x per month. So at the end of a year, my "cost per wear" is $20. Now that's a bargain! Until I am able to score my dream shoes, I will continue to look for style inspiration from my favorite bloggers.

Events: Brunch and Bubbles with Faviana

Thursday, August 13, 2015

Last Sunday I spent my afternoon attending the Faviana Brunch and Bubbles event at the America Mart in Atlanta. Several local bloggers where in attendance too. They say the more the merrier and that is so true! We spent the first half of the event chatting, networking and taking pictures. Then it was showtime! We made our way to the runway to get an exclusive look at their Spring 2016 collection! Enjoy a photo recap of the event, including my favorite looks!

Thrift Wish List: Culottes

Tuesday, August 11, 2015

Many of my friends do not understand my love for culottes and my dislike for capris. They consider them the same thing, but I try to convince them that they are not. Capris resemble high water pants and depending how it is styled, look very frumpy and dated. Culottes look like a skirt, but are actually wide leg cropped pants. Just that little quirkiness is what makes me adore them so much, plus it's a great conversation starter. For my clients who just love capris, I always suggest they try a pair of culottes. In my opinion, they are a stylish, fashionable alternative to capris. Here are some of my ways to style culottes.

Thrifted Trends: Sabine Scarf Print Maxi Dress

Thursday, August 6, 2015

Who can resist a maxi dress? Especially one that is pleated and has a gorgeous print! I knew this dress was a winner, as soon as I spotted it on the racks at the Goodwill Grasslands location in Alpharetta. I researched the Sabine brand and this dress retails for $78. My price only $7.  When thrifting price is of course a factor, but the deciding factor for me is the brand and how to maximize my wardrobe with the pieces I select. It really helps to determine if the item is worth coming home with me. This dress is perfect for this season and will be a great transition piece for Fall. I can pair it with a denim jacket or cropped leather jacket too.  This dress certainly passed the test.

Thrift Style We Crave: Denim Jeans

Monday, August 3, 2015

Denim jeans are often one of the most challenging fashion pieces to find while thrifting. The rows and rows of jeans we encounter when walking into a thrift store is very overwhelming. One of the most important tips when thrifting for jeans is to devote time solely focused on finding the perfect pair. When thrifting for jeans, you should ONLY thrift for jeans. Do not get distracted and thrift for anything else. It may take 2 hours or two weeks to find that perfect pair, but I promise it will be worth the time and patience. Click HERE to review my other tips for thrifting jeans. Here are a few looks from our Divas Who Thrift. I hope they provide style inspiration when you are thrifting for one of the most important pieces you can own.

Thrift Style We Crave: Jumpsuits

Monday, July 27, 2015

It is no secret that I am a bit obessed with jumpsuits. They are my go to look for any occasion because they are comfortable, versatile and easy to style. They also make a statement and most likely you would be the only one in the room wearing one. It's like wearing a red dress to an all-white party, a bit of a rebel but getting all the attention. Whether it is a short or long, I am always on the search for one or two or three. I always suggest to my clients that they need to add a jumpsuit to their wardrobe. When selecting one, make sure it fits well. Believe me there is one just right for you. Try it on, move around and absolutely do the sit down test, for obvious reasons of course. The jumpsuit is a grown up version of a newborn onesie. Here are a few looks from some of our favorite fashion bloggers. You can use them as style inspiration when you are shopping for the must-have staple for your wardrobe.

Stylish Review: Sinfully Delicious MacarOn Cafe

Saturday, July 25, 2015

The French pastry chefs at MacarOn Café sent me a sweet shipment of macarons. Although based in New York, MacarOn Café ships their yummy treats nationwide and mine was patiently waiting for me at my door. What a great way to start the weekend right? My sample box actually arrived inside a much bigger box with a FRAGILE label on top. Inside that box was a thermal envelope packed with several ice packs to make sure my gorgeous box of macarons arrived fresh and in-tact to my door.

What I Wore: Aztec Print Kimono

Monday, July 13, 2015

This past Saturday I attended a brunch date with friends at Negril Village Atlanta. It was the perfect time to debut my new favorite kimono by Flying Tomato. I scored it from My Best Friend's Closet Consignment in Lawrenceville. I fell in love with the bold aztec print and the hi-low style. Plus I knew that it would be the perfect addition to my summer wardrobe. Kimonos are so versatile! Since it was on it's final markdown, I paid only $10. You can get this same style kimono in a different print HERE.
