Fall is finally here and that means it is time to make some updates to your wardrobe. One of the easiest ways to update your wardrobe on a budget is to add a fashion trend. You would be surprised what you might find and you will not blow your budget! Check out how my fave bloggers styled their fringe trends.

What I Wore: Blue Suede Shoes

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

I am focusing on building my shoe wardrobe. My wish list includes a few classic designer shoes and of course some fun, trendy fun ones too. So when two of fave blogger boos (Kisha Rose & The Style Klazit) invited me to try out ShoeDazzle, I could not resist. If you are not familiar with ShoeDazzle it is a monthly subscription program for shoes. I signed up for the VIP membership plan and each month I receive a credit of $39.95 to purchase shoes from my curated closet. I admit I was a bit overwhelmed at the massive selection of shoes to choose from, but once I laid my eyes on these blue suede shoes, I knew I had to get them. I loved the color, the cut-out sides and the faux bootie style. They are the Hiroki from the ShoeDazzle Gwen Stefani collection. I styled my booties with my pale yellow dress and added a statement necklace too!

What I Wore: Vintage Jumpsuit

Monday, September 21, 2015

Jumpsuits are a staple in my closet. I tend to always pick one up every time I go thrift shopping. You may wonder what I love about them. I love wearing jumpsuits because they are easy to style, always in season and make a statement. This jumpsuit caught my attention as soon as I saw the color and the deep V neckline. I also love the tapered style at the ankles. Those are just a few of the details I look for when deciding if an item is a good fit for me.

What I Wore: Oka-B Wedge Heels

Monday, September 14, 2015

Last month I attended the Oka-B media brunch, to get a sneak peek at their Fall shoe collection, including the launch of the Emery wedge. I learned so much about the company and heard the numerous reviews about the comfort of their shoes, that I could not wait to wear my first pair. I was gifted a pair of Emery peep toe wedges. I selected it Sapphire because it looks like such a classic color that will complement my wardrobe effortlessly. Since the Emery was launched and described as the perfect transition piece to take you from summer to Fall, I styled it with my favorite fall Ralph Lauren crest blazer and Joe's denim skinny jeans.

Events: Back by Popular Demand Consignment $1 Sale (RECAP)

Wednesday, September 9, 2015

This past weekend, I attended the Back By Popular Demand Consignment Dollar Sale. This annual event is a fundraiser that supports a local charity selected by the owner.  I was among the early birds, arriving at 6:30am (the sale started at 8 am), in the hopes of catching the best deals. With over 20,000 pieces of clothing, accessories and shoes to be set-up for the sale, owner Melissa Baxter, and her team were very busy getting everything organized. I am always amazed at how they do this so effortlessly. I guess this is due to their over 13 years experience hosting an event of the scale. Big KUDOS to them for pulling off an amazing event that is well organized, safe and full of quality merchandise.

Here are my must-have tips for a successful day:
ARRIVE EARLY. Get a sneak peek and set-up of the inventory. That way you can develop your strategy and know which items you will shop first.
WEAR THRIFTING UNIFORM. This is an outdoor event, so there are no fitting rooms!
BRING FRIENDS. The more the merrier and you can score items for each other.

Below is a photo recap of the sale:

Thrift Wish List: Ankara Print Midi Skirt

Tuesday, September 1, 2015

The Ankara print skirt is such a statement piece that I had to add it to my Thrift Wish List. I absolutely love vibrant prints and the Ankara print fulfills that need. It is also so easy to style. What I like most about the Ankara skirt is that it can styled with a variety of tops. My fave bloggers make styling look so effortless. The key to wearing this look is to select a top that is simple so the skirt will not compete. That way the skirt will become the focus.  You can shop similar styles HERE and HERE
