Thrift Shopping: Goodwill Oakland Park Florida

I know you would not believe me if I told you that this is a Goodwill right. Well it is the Goodwill located in Oakland Park, Florida at 1099 E. Oakland Park Blvd.  I walked in to this store and was in awe by the spacious store, quality items and friendly customer service. It is about 20,000 square feet and filled with such great items, from vintage to trendy. Here is a photo recap of my visit:

Thrift Sisters Link Up: Mixed Prints

This week the Thrifting Diva and I are rocking mixed prints. Make sure to stop by Ayana'a blog to get the details about her look too!

Blouse $3- Chaus (Park Ave Thrift Duluth
Shorts $4- Campagnie Internationale Express (Value Village Roswell)
Shoes $2- Proxy (Park Ave Thrift Woodstock Outlet)
Clutch $10- Vintage (Diva Diva Boutique)
TOTAL= $19

The key to pulling of mixed prints is to make sure that you have the same color combination in both pieces. My color combination of choice was black and white. I kept the accessories simple and the shoes where a nice complement.

How do you rock mixed prints? What are your rules?

Now, it's time for the link up! Let the party begin! The link will remain open for 5 days. So go ahead and show us your favorite thrifted mixed prints or any thrifted fashion under $50.

This week’s featured Thrift Sister is Robyn from Feel Great Fashion. I loved the color combination she used for her look. And her necklace is such a statement piece too! Check out here fabulous style HERE.

Thrift Haul Score of the Week: Route 66 Crochet Lace Maxi Dress

My strategy for thrifting is to always look for interesting prints, beautiful fabrics and stand out pieces. So when I saw this crochet lace dress, while thrifting at Park Ave Thrift Outlet, I knew that I had to add to my shopping cart. Plus at  $1.50, it was truly a good price. Especially since I rarely buy Economy brands (i.e. Kmart, Target, Old Navy etc.) from the thrift store. It is one way that I can limit what I get while thrifting and also I can get the same item on their clearance racks for the about the same thrift store price.

Well today, that was an exception to my rule. This crochet lace dress is such a stand out piece and I already had some amazing ideas of how I could style it too. It will make a travel piece for my upcoming beach vacation. It can be packed in my suitcase and it will not take up too much room. I can also wear it as a cover up for my bathing suit and over a slip for a walk to an outdoor cafe too.

Thrift Sisters Link Up: Color Block Maxi Kimono

This week the Thrifting Diva and I are rocking our kimonos, one of summer's most coveted trends. I put it to my thrift wishlist and finally scored this one from Rejected Thrifts, an online vintage boutique.

Kimono $20- Vintage (Rejected Thrifts
Jeans $5- Seven of all Mankind (Park Ave Thrift Store)

If you follow me on social media, you know that I have been obsessing about owning a kimomo, especially one that is traditional styled. So you can only imagine how excited I was when I finally laid eyes on the kimono collection from Rejected Thrifts. They were all exactly what I was searching for, and I selected this colorblock beauty.

Although, my mom said I looked like I was wearing a bathrobe, I felt more like a superhero. This cape-like flowy draping piece, can amp up any outfit and is the perfect transition piece too. You can style it with denim or with a cocktail dress.  It will certainly start a conversation as well.

Is the kimono on your must-have wishlist?

This week’s featured Thrift Sister is Alexandra from FunkyJungle. I loved her midi skirt. What a gorgeous print? Her strappy wedges are also a great complement to her look too! Check out here fabulous style HERE.

Thrifted Trends: Tolani Ikat Print Maxi Dress

Shoes: Alice & Olivia (Goodwill Johns Creek; worn HERE)
Dress: Tolani (B & R Thrift Store Sandy Springs)

This was my first time wearing my Tolani maxi dress and I promise you it will not be last. First of all, the Ikat fabric print is amazing. According to the blog A Little Design Help, Ikat fabrics are made by dying the threads before the fabric is woven.  The threads (typically natural fibers such as cotton or linen) are tied tightly together and dipped into dye.  This creates an uneven, mottled appearance on the threads, allowing the pattern to have a “hazy” look when the fabric is woven. For more details click HERE

It is by by far one of the most comfortable maxi dresses that I own. The length of the dress is perfect too. I wore my 4 inch heel wedges and the dress hem was at least an inch of the floor. This dress will also make a great summer/fall transitional piece too. I can certainly add a black blazer and classic pumps to make it office chic.

How do you style your maxi dress with heels? Do you prefer wedges or classic pumps?

Thrift Haul of the Week: Tolani Collection Maxi Dress

Dress- Tolani (B & R Thrift Store)

It's really a sad day in Thrifting Atlanta, because B & R Thrift Store is closing for good at the end of the month. They have been one of my fave thrifting spots for so many years and this dress is one of the reasons I will miss them so much. I stopped by yesterday to check out their going out of business sale. Everything is 50% off now and then during the last week of August, I am sure they will have a crazy sale.

As soon as I approached the rack with the long dresses, I saw the fabulous print of the dress, and as usual I fell in love. I held it up to my body and the length was perfect. The price was marked $2.99 plus an additional 50% off, even better.

Of course, like I always say, the label tells the story. I googled the brand and learned so much about it. Let's just say, I am glad I was able to own one at the resale price.

The brand of this dress is Tolani. An exclusive brand sold at department stores like Neiman Marcus or online retailer Revolve Clothing. They have been worn by celebrities like Halle Berry, Heidi Klum and Paris Hilton too. The style is very bohemian chic and the material is Indian silk. I can't wait to wear my dress tomorrow as I host the Thrifting Atlanta Bus Tour. Below are some of my fave inspired looks.

Thrift Sisters Link Up: Thrifted Blazers

This week the Thrifting Diva and I are rocking our thrifted blazers.

Blazer- Ann Taylor (Goodwill Grasslands
Skirt- Express (B & R Thrift Store)
Shoes- Bakers (Park Ave Thrift Store Duluth)

Who can resist the blazer...worn with denim or over a dress, dressed up or down, it can complement any look. I used my blazer to style the color block trend. I paired it with my cobalt blue pencil skirt, off-white lace full slip (worn as a camisole) and the yellow pumps for an unexpected pop of color.
