Dress- Nine West (Buckhead Thriftique)/ Shoes- Alice & Olivia (Goodwill NG Johns Creek)/ Clutch- Fendi (Alexis Suitcase Consignment)

Nothing says classic summer better than seersucker fabric- owning a piece made of seersucker is a must-have because this timeless staple belongs in your closet! Here is the history behind this fabric: In 1907, a New Orleans clothier made summer wear more comfortable by designing a light-weight suit in pale blue and white striped rumpled cotton fabric. He named that fabric “seersucker,” from Persian words meaning “milk and sugar.”  This best part about it is that is does not require ironing!

Seersucker suits became widely popular, especially among Southern senators. Now a long past tradition, Seersucker Thursdays was the third Thursday of June set aside for senators to wear seersucker suits. But today seersucker isn't just for suits- we gals can rock this nostalgic look too!

Do you own a seersucker piece?

  7. You had me at no ironing required. Everything I own should be seersucker in that case! Love the wedge sandals you paired this with too.
