Thrift Sisters Link Up: Thrifted Sequins

Wednesday, July 30, 2014

I am so excited to team up with the fabulous Thrifting Diva for our Wednesday Thrift Sisters Link Up. We are both from Trinidad, love sequins and are very passionate about inspiring others to go thrifting!
So it was only natural that we would create a platform to broaden our reach and showcase our thrifted finds. But we want you to join in the fun and showcase your looks too. If selected as our favorite look, we will feature you on our respective blogs the following week. See our link up rules at the bottom.
For this week's Thrift Sisters Link Up, we are wearing our favorite thrifted sequin pieces.

Dress- Fabrice Silhouette (DivaXpress)

I wore this dress during our 2013 Thrifting Atlanta Fashion Week. It is one of my favorite pieces. I love the color and the asymmetrical hemline. Of course, you know my favorite detail about this dress are the sequins and the dangling bugle beads. That made me fall in love at first sight.
Now, it's time for the link up! Let the party begin! The link will remain open for 5 days. So go ahead and show us your favorite thrifted sequins or any thrifted fashion under $50.
Next week's theme is Florals. Here are our thrift Sisters Link Up Rules:

Thrifted Trends: Sam Edelman Scarlett Pumps

Monday, July 28, 2014

Shoes- Sam Edelman Scarlett Pumps (Upscale Resale Consignment)
Jumpsuit- Mustard Seed (Funky Flair Boutique)
Clutch- Last Chance Thrift Store Chamblee
Bracelet-( I Heart Jewelz)
Belt- Value Village Roswell

I finally rocked my Sam Edelman Scarlett pumps and I paired it with my super trendy leg baring jumpsuit. It made showing off these sexy pumps much easier. I will be honest these 5 inch heels are definitely not made for walking. They are perfect to wear on a dinner date or somewhere will you be seated most of the time.

Do you have "sitting only" shoes?

Thrifted Trends: Vintage Pleated Colorblock Sundress

Monday, July 21, 2014

Handbag: Vinatge (B & R Thrift Store)
Shoes: Aldo (House of Ubhule)

I scored this vintage beauty at Ecologie Consignment and Vintage during the bus tour I hosted last weekend. Although, I usually do not have much time to shop while hosting the bus tours, I did manage to see this dress in the store window and I knew that I had to have it! I immediately fell in love with the color and the color block at the bottom; the beautiful pleats and the tie shoulder straps too! It reminded me of the sundresses I wore when I was a little girl. The only thing that would have made this dress perfect--pockets!!

What are the details that you look for in a sundress?

If you see a chartered bus rolling through the parking lot of your favorite Thrifting Atlanta store, don't be surprised! It's just me and my Thrifting Atlanta crew. LOL  I am so excited to host the July 12th Thrifting Atlanta Bus Tour. Our last bus tour was back in April, so we have been patiently waiting to get our thrifting fix.
I will be leading our group of 50 women through the Thrifting Atlanta streets. Our chauffeured bus departs from Must Ministries Marketplace and stops at Ecologie Consignment & Vintage, Diva Diva Boutique, Park Avenue Thrift Outlet Woodstock and B & R Thrift Store.
Each store provides exclusive discounts and light refreshments for our shoppers. It is a marathon thrifting day and our shoppers will thrift till they drop! I can't wait to see my group this Saturday and help them to find some fabulous pieces too!
Have you ever been on Thrifting Atlanta Bus Tour or a shopping bus tour?
If Yes, what did you enjoy the most? If No, why haven't you joined the fun?

Thrifted Trends: Vintage Jumpsuit

Saturday, July 5, 2014

Jumpsuit: Exotic Touch by Rebecca (Virtuoustyls)
Handbag: Louis Vuitton Epi Noe (Goodwill Johns Creek)
Shoes: IDORE (Park Aveune Thrift Duluth; Buy HERE

I hope you had a fabulous 4th of July. I wore this vintage jumpsuit to my mom's cookout. I purchased this jumpsuit from Virtuoustyls about 2 years ago, during one of  her Style Workshops. I saw it on the rack and I knew I had to have it. I immediately fell in love with it because it has pockets and I love the buttons on the shoulders. It was a festive look for the holiday without looking too much like holiday decor. You all know how much I adore jumpsuits. I always seem to gravitate to either dresses, rompers or jumpsuits, whenever I am getting ready for an event. Sometimes styling a top and bottom can be so stressful. Some may say call it lazy, I call it effortless style.

What is your go-to outfit when getting ready for an event?
