So Stylish: Sherane's Vintage Closet

Sherane Heron, Owner of Sherane's Vintage Closet
This week's So Stylish Spotlight is on Sherane Heron of Sherane's Vintage Closet (SVC). SVC is located at 1016 Howell Mill Rd, Suite 3207 in Atlanta, GA.  I was so excited that I finally had the opportunity to visit Sherane's. The items are so unique with prices starting as low as $10. Her space is very cozy that I felt like I was shopping in my best friend's closet. And of course a light refreshment is the perfect complement to a day of shopping. Hope you enjoy our interview.

Tell us about Sherane’s Vintage Closet.
Sherane's Vintage Closet is a vintage fashion boutique located in the heart of the midtown area of Atlanta, GA. We specialize in selling vintage to the modern day lady and gentleman. We also offer on-site alteration services.

What inspired you to start your boutique?
I wanted to open a boutique where I could make people feel like they are royalty while purchasing affordable and unique items.

Initially, I started my boutique in January of 2009 because I developed a hobby of thrifting & wanted to sell my unique vintage finds to friends and family.  Although I did not have a physical location, I would travel to different trendy restaurants and lounges in the city of Atlanta for trunk show events. The event theme was EAT. SIP. SHOP because guests enjoyed wine and appetizers while shopping

In 2010, I took a year off to focus on graduate school and in 2011 decided to open up a   physical location in the heart of downtown Atlanta, GA. I decided to keep a similar theme, SIP & SHOP because we serve wine to all guests.

Who is your target customer?
Our target customers are college students. In addition to our Atlanta location (midtown area), we also have:
  • #TenDollarTuesdays- selling $10 vintage fashion on the campus of Georgia State University;
  • #TenDollarThursdays- selling $10 vintage fashion on the campus of Clark Atlanta University and
  • #TenDollarFridays- selling $10 vintage fashion on the campus of Spelman College.
What is the price range for your products?
Our price ranges from $5- $30 dollars for vintage fashion. We also have a VintageLUXE items that are more high end-priced at $75 and above. Many of our VintageLUXE items are for rent as well.

What sets you apart from other boutiques?
Our customer service, accessibility and affordable pricing sets up a part from other boutiques. We offer each customer wine or water and attempt to cater to their every need while in the boutique; giving them an intimate shopping experience.

Furthermore, we have a seamstress in house that can customize any merchandise purchased in and/or outside of Sherane's Vintage Closet.

We are the only boutique in the city of Atlanta that comes to the campuses on a weekly basis- selling affordable unique yet quality fashion to college students.  We are also very affordable-selling quality, high end pieces.

What's HOT at Sherane’s Vintage Closet?
Sherane's Vintage Closet is anticipating a great 2012! In addition to our regular in store "special events" we will be on GSU, CAU and Spelman's campus once a week selling $10 items.

We offer our venue space free when using our store during open hours for cross promotion.
So SVC usually has an in store event taking place 2 to 3 Saturday's a month. SVC always offers great promotions- so at the end of every season we always have a blowout sale.

We are currently taking submissions for our Consignment Program-where we house the fabulous vintage fashion as well as handmade accessory designers.
