Two Stylish Kays: What I Wore: Tweed Coat + Sweater Dress

What I Wore: Tweed Coat + Sweater Dress

Monday, January 30, 2017

One of my favorite fashion pieces to thrift is outerwear. This is one item that you will truly get the best bang for your bucks, When selecting a winter coat, I always look for a style that is timeless and can last for a few seasons. Since a winter coat is the most important piece you wear over your clothing, I shop for coats that are trendy enough to make a fashion statement alone and a coat that I can wear with sweaters too. The details, fabric and length are other things I consider before making a purchase. So when I noticed this leather trim tweed winter coat by Cynthia Rowley, while thrifting at Intown Thrift Store, I knew that I hit the jackpot. This coat met all of my needs! It retails for $400, but the thrift store price was under $7. This tweed coat is my go-to winter coat when I leaving home to head to work. It is a perfect piece that I can wear during the daytime. Plus if I have to meet up with friends for an after-work happy hour date, I still look very stylish.

WHAT I WORE

Outerwear- Cynthia Rowley/Intown Thrift, Atlanta, GA (Buy similar HERE , HERE)
Dress- Calvin Klein/Designers Consignment, Savannah, GA
Shoes- Sam Edelman/Goodwill North Lawrenceville, GA

I wore this outfit to work. My black and white striped Calvin Klein sweater dress is a thrifted find purchased from Designers Consigment boutique in Savannah, GA. I paired my dress with textured tights and patent leather shoes. The tights I bought on clearance from Target. The shoes are Sam Edelman and purchased them from Goodwill North Lawrenceville store in Lawrenceville, GA.

What are some things you consider before buying a winter coat? How do you style your sweater dresses?

  5. Hey I have that same dress only the sleeves are short.... Love it, I think I may have to replicate your outfit tomorrow for work. Since it is short sleeves, I wear a sweater with it.
