Thrift Haul of the Week: Unclaimed Baggage Center

Monday, March 9, 2020

This weekend I hosted the Thrifting Atlanta bus tour to Unclaimed Baggage Center in Scottsboro, AL. It is a three hour drive from Atlanta and well worth the trip. We spent three hours shopping the 40,000 square feet store. A separate men's store is located next door to the main building.

Just like the name says it is a store that sells items from unclaimed bags from airlines, buses, trains, cruise ships and unclaimed cargo from major brands. When ninety days has passed and the bags' owners cannot be located, Unclaimed Baggage buys the bags unseen.  The bags are opened and the contents are sorted. Fashion items that pass their inspection are professionally dry-cleaned and electronics are digitally wiped-clean. Items that are not damaged or defective are discarded or donated to their charity of choice.

Here is a look at the items that made it home with me.

This ASOS Jumpsuit retails for $48. Unclaimed Baggage price was only $8.29 and it still had the retail tags. This is an indicator that it is was never worn.

I love polka dots, especially a non-traditional color combination. This Zara mustard and black polka dot dress made a great addition to my dress collection.  Plus for only $6.29 it did not make a dent to my budget either.

I absolutely love an ankle strap block heel shoe. They can be styled with just about every outfit. They will go perfectly with my Zara polka dot dress too.  This style is the Steve Madden Irenee and retails for $80. Unclaimed Baggage price was $24.99 plus an additional 25% off.

My other favorite style of shoe is a bootie. This style is the Jessica Simpson Allest  it retails for over $100. The Unclaimed Baggage Price was $15.59 and I used my 25% off coupon. So my final price was $12.

My favorite finds are my new arm candy. The pandora bracelet was $30. It retails for $60. My thrift sister also gifted me a charm (not pictured). It retails for $35. Unclaimed Baggage price was $16. Then hubby gifted me the pearl and diamond David Yurman bracelet as an early birthday present. It retails for $950. Unclaimed Baggage price was only $325.
