Holiday Party Dress Code

Wednesday, November 2, 2011

November is the official kick-off to the holiday shopping season. Which means those holiday parties are right around the corner along with those invitations each with their own dress code.
Here are some general guidelines to help you decide what to wear (plus these dresses are all $60 or under):

Dressy Casual- This is step above casual, a much more dressed up version. Wear a dress or dressy slacks with a blouse.

One Shoulder Dress from Funky Flair Boutique $45

Festive Attire- It can be dressy or casual, just add a bit of sparkle to put you in a festive mood.

One Shoulder Sequin Dress from Nordstrom Rack- $59.97

Cocktail- A dress, like the LBD, is always appropriate. Wear a dress that is at least knee length or something fun and flirty.

Black Dress from Dillards- $44.80

Black-Tie Optional or Black Tie- This is still a formal event but with a little bit more flexibility. Choose between a cocktail dress or long formal gown.

Win this dress from Shabby Apple! Contest ends today at 11:59 pm EST!

White Tie- Think of this as red carpet worthy attire. Wear you most formal floor length dress.

Off-White One Shoulder Dress from Fashion Envy- $45 3-day rental
These dress codes can be a bit confusing, but when in doubt always shoot for being overdressed. You will always fit right in!
