EBEW: Breaking The Rules

Top(is a dress)- The Limited/ Shorts- (Value Village)/Necklace- Loehmanns/ Shoes- Jessica Simpson (Marshalls)/ Watch- Michael Kors (Macys)/ Bracelet & Earrings- Goodwill

Here is my look for this month's Everybody Everywear challenge-- mixed prints.  I kept the look simple and chic by staying within the same color scheme and added understated accessories, plus my faithful nude pumps.

My top is actually a strapless dress that I bought from the The Limited about three years ago.

The shorts I got while out thrifting at one of my favorite stores, Value Village. I fell in love with the huge white dots on the black background. I tucked the dress it into my shorts to create this look.

The necklace and earrings resembled polka dots, so I added them for an extra touch. And of course my statement watch that I wear with everything.

I am so used to pairing printed tops with solid bottoms (or vice versa). This challenge gave me a chance to break a style rule and it felt empowering, plus it shakes up my style. What style rules do you live by? Are there any style rules you are willing to break?

  1. This is a fabulous look.  I love the two prints that you mixed although I feel like dots are my favorite.

I know I am late commenting but I just found your blog. :-)
