Just Make It Good

Skirt-Ice Nine and Belt (Goodwill of North Georgia)/ Top- DKNY (Sip & Swap Event)/ Shoes- Steve Madden (Marshalls)/ Watch- Michael Kors (Macys)/ Earrings- Borrowed from my mom/ Assorted Bracelets

This skirt is one of favorite thrifted finds. I fell in love with the color, the print and the flirty fit. Plus, the pleats reminded me of my skirt that I wore in catholic school.

So I was so excited to wear it to the Beres Hammond concert earlier this month. My friends and I had been looking forward to a great evening listening and dancing the night away with one of our favorite reggae artists.

But it was a rainy evening and when we arrived, the concert was cancelled because lightning caused a power outage. What a bummer!!! But there is always a way to make a "good" of a bad situation.

Two of my BFFs (Rita & Amavi) and I ended up going to Embrace Saturdays. It is a Caribbean party held every Saturday night at Thrive Lounge in downtown Atlanta. After about 3 hours of dancing, we posed for this picture and as you can tell we made the best of such a disappointing situation. We had a great time!!!

This is always my approach in life. No matter how bad something seems, I try to find one positive in it. I'm in control of whether I decide to consumed by what is happening or turn it all around. How do you manage to handle situations that don't always go as planned?

P.S. The concert is rescheduled for this Sunday, August 28th

  23. Your take on life is so refreshing! I always annoy my friends by being so positive even when aren't going as planned. It's nice to know there are other people who see the bright side and choose to live happily.
On another note, I love your belt! It's so funky.
