I was watching television the other day (one of my favorite pastimes). In watching one entertainment news magazine, I realized how excited we get about things and people who have little to no relevance in our lives. We are immersed in celebrity lifestyles that appear to be picture perfect. Grant it, it is exciting to fantasize about having access to the best at all times, jet-setting to exotic surroundings, and being loved by many. But, I am not naïve enough to believe that these lifestyles don’t come at a mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional cost that many of us would never want to pay. It is so critical to hold an authentic perspective about what truly matters. Let’s safeguard what we value and who we hold in high esteem.

ReplyDeleteJust a lurker here - I was deciding whether to follow this blog after seeing it on EBEW, and I was going through some older posts. Then I came across this one and I knew I was going to be a new reader. You (and the other Kay) are GORGEOUS. You have such nice skin and hair and features and the way that you adorn yourself is careful (not effortless or cut-and-dried) and, well, you just look stunning. Then I read the words in the post, and I was taken aback by how kind and thoughtful the feeling behind them is. I just get the feeling that you really mean what you say.

ReplyDeletemyself in that intense heat. The six-kilometer walk to the village and back was filled with
clacking bamboo groves, large feathery ferns, and pungent odors of the jungle hanging here and there.
We also found their pricing to be very competitive with the
rates of other companies.
